Description from the owner: 1960 pontiac bonneville convertible. This beauty was restored in 2008 and has no more than 3000 miles in the last eight years. This "land yacht" weighs in dry at 4,030 pounds and is 220. 7 inches long on a wheelbase of 124 inches. This was the second year of pontiac's famous "wide track" giving it a width of 80. 7 inches. 1960 also was the year of the very distinctive "shark grille". Only 17,062 of this model were produced for 1960. Best guess is that there are no more than 100 left in the country with perhaps 20 in this condition. Deluxe steering wheel this vehicle has taken home divisional trophies at the poci's two most recent western regionals held in bass lake, california. Each time she was driven 500 miles, not trailered to the competition. The generator has been converted to an alternator but remains in the original generator case displaying detailed authenticity. Powerful 389 engine features owner added tripower carburetion (throttle linkage updated from vacuum to mechanical actuation with original vacuum lines left in place but inoperative for safety reasons) and dual exhaust -- with tripower the engine is rated at 318 horsepower. Motor trend named the 1959 pontiac their "car of the year" for this suspension advancement. This consisted of widening the track by several inches compared to other gm cars and competitors -- the benefit was better roll stiffness and handling combined with better ride quality. Pontiac was heavily into racing at the time -- stock car, drag racing and bonneville salt flats -- and this vehicle has the second year of the legendary 389 tri-power including the very rare (and hard to find) correct tri-power air cleaner. 1960 was the last year of the vista view wrap around windshield which has been replaced in the last three years. This was the last of the breed. This vehicle was originally assembled at gm's south gate california plant and delivered to a dealer in seattle. I purchased it in seattle in 2000 and shipped it to california for a very high grade frame-on restoration completed in 2008 as a gift for my wife who wanted to remember her teenage years with her parent's 1960 bonneville. This is 1 of only 187 built in this configuration from the factory in 2001! It is rarer than the collectors edition, or ceta! Were only these do not come up for sale that often, being a two year only paint color (2001-2002) and costing extra when originally purchased. This is a california car all it's life, never smoked in, and has always been garaged! This trans am was never raced, even though it was set-up for it. The original owner built it for racing at thunder hill raceway park in willows, ca. The original owner lost interest in it, his dream for racing just after completing the build. It has an high dollar, after market, high performance suspension package, that far exceeds anything that came from the factory, including the slp 1le ! Look up lou gigliotti, at www. Just a set of used g2 world rally rims for a ws6, i have seen selling for upwards of $2000 used. My trans am has a custom 9. 00" 12 bolt rear housing with an detroit trutrac differential rear end with 4:11 rear gears, and 35 spline axles, 1350 slip yoke, and an aluminum t/a rear diff. Cover with stud girdle, to keep the rear end cool. The axle housing was purchased from darrell waltrip @ dwmotor sports (former nascar 3x champion, and hall of fame driver), and shipped to diff works in corona, ca. Who installed the differential, and gears, in 2008. In 2012 the axle was serviced by currie enterprises of anaheim, ca. Where it was completely disassembled, hot tanked, and reassembled with all new bearings, and gaskets. The rear end only has 3,500 miles on it, since it's build! I purchased this trans am from the original owner. I have the original sales contract, window sticker from the dealer, and receipts for all work the done to this incredible car! There is an incredible list of standard features that came on this car, it was fully loaded, and was a showroom car at the time of it's purchase. Now for a list of the performance features that make this car stand out from the rest! It has goodyear eagle f1, gs d3, 275/40/zr17 tires wrapped around those factory 17" polished aluminum rims, a k&n fipk carbon fiber air intake, a hotchkiss strut tower brace, a cags skip shift eliminator, on that 6speed transmission with a factory hurst short throw shifter. It is for that reason that i mention that the car is for sale as is, where is! I will make myself available for any inspections! There are no take backs, or post sale adjustments! I digress, let me go on about its performance mods. In 2008, with only 74,500 miles on the clock, the differential was added, along with shock relocation brackets. Fitted with kyb agx fully adjustable shocks, and struts. The car was lowered 1" with lg motorsports world rally g2 supersprings, a g2 torque arm, g2 adjustable lower control arms, g2 adjustable panhard rod. Lg motorsports g2 sway bars front, and rear! All these mod's have only 3500 miles on them! I have most all of the service records from day one! Receipts for all professional modifications! And professional installations only! This trans am has recently been fully serviced over $3000 worth! Including a gmc dealer block check (no cracked block), carbon check (no leaking head gaskets, no warped or cracked heads)., and a cooling system check. All fluids, mobil 1 extended life synthetic motor oil, and filter, new water pump, and gaskets, new thermostat & gaskets, new radiator cap, new radiator hoses and two dealer installed clamps, new coolant recovery tank with new cap, and coolant level reader, new dexcool extended life anti-freeze, new serpentine drive belt, new castrol dextron vi synthetic transmission fluid per dealer recommendation, new interstate battery with an 84 month warranty, new lucas gear oil 75- 90, and torco limited slip positive traction fluid in the rear differential. New power steering fluid, brakes are good on all 4 corners, topped off with new dot 3 brake fluid, topped off clutch master cylinder. (note: only mobil1 has been used in this car by both owners) the combination of the ls1 motor combined with the six speed short shifting manual transmission, and the racing suspension with its 12 bolt rear end sporting those 4:11''s makes for a really great experience! 0 - 60 in 5. 0 second's! I have a dyno sheet from 2002, that shows that it puts down 318hp to the rear wheels, meaning that it turns out 413hp @ the crank, and 340 ft. Lbs of torque to the wheels! Note that when the 2001-2002 trans am ws6's came out, stock, they were faster than the base corvettes! There actual hp figures were highly under reported by gm to the government. This car gets many compliments! And it's no wonder why! The performance, and looks of this trans am truly, just cant be beat! As of 2014 this car was still getting positive reviews of honorable mention, some 13 years later after it's production. In major magazines when they were debuting the new 2014 corvettes! It is way under valued! And, this one is so well equipped with! Easily over $12,000+ worth in 2008! Plus the recent $3000+ service. Making this car only 1 of 1 in the nation! 1986 pontiac firebird trans am, t tops low miles original up for sale is 1986firebird trans am with 48k original miles. This was a ny state car that spentsome time in florida with its first owner before returning again to ny state. Itwas then purchased by the second owner, a local woman and friend of the family. The car has been garage kept all its life and well maintained. Exterior: the bright red exteriorpaint is in outstanding overall condition for a 30 plus year old vehicle. Thepaint has a head turning, deep, wet gloss shine. The tires are in excellentcondition with 85 tread left. The wheels are in very good condition. Theoriginal rear spoiler is one of the best originals i‘ve seen with only veryminor cracking. It does not need replacement. The decals and striping on the carare original and still remain in good condition. I have elected to keep theoriginal decals for the sake of originality and a little bit of patina. Thet-tops are in excellent shape. The weather stripping is perfect with no cracksor issues. The black rear louvers were repainted and look awesome, they reallygive it character. The front windshield is original with no lamination issueswhatsoever. A small chip in the windshield was professionally repaired. There issome slight fading on the side hood louvers; they can easily be removed andre-cleared. Exterior photos were taken during full sunlight and partial sunlightto give a better idea of the quality and condition of the paint. Interior: thepictures tell the story. The interior is remarkable with very minimal wear. Thedash is perfect with no cracks. The gray cloth seats are original and inremarkable condition, the headliner cloth was just replaced.
